Look at sweet little Lizzie and her cute little kitty-cat watch.
We celebrated big at CC's house who made a fabulous chocolate birthday pie!!
Lizzie got lots of great gifts---here is the one Jonny and I gave her. (A Titans uniform for her Build-A-Bear.)
Unfortunately, it was difficult at times for Anna and Sara Kate watching their sister get all the good stuff........ :)

Our Back Door is In!!
We are so very thrilled to finally have our back door! It took forever----Home Depot didn't know how to order it for us back in April. We eventually ordered a door from Thrifty Building Supply. It came in and didn't fit. They couldn't make it fit. So we had to crawl back to Home Depot....and they finally figured out how to order the door. Then we waited almost 4 more weeks for it to come in!
Drywalled!!
Our drywall is in, and it only took a day! They made a big mess--but it will get worse when they come back to mud and sand (three times!). It is amazing how it really changes the feel of the house! This picture is a view from inside the den.
This is the view from the master bedroom door looking into the dining room/kitchen. Jonny and James (our neighbor) are surveying the work.
This is a view from the foyer looking down the hallway toward the back door.

More Finishing Touches
Can you see the trim around the center windows here? It is not painted yet, but it will look great soon! It really helped tie the windows together.
Here are our front steps. They are nice and wide, as are the back steps too. We are very pleased with how they came out!
Here is a picture of the columns now with the trim on the top as well. Our porch ceilings have beadboard on them now as well.

Insulation
Our insulation is in now. We had foam blown in around the windows, outlets, doors, etc... We had fiberglass insulation blown in on all of the outside walls. We had the ceilings rolled with batting, as well as a few walls where we wanted some sound-barriers (bedrooms, bathrooms, the mudroom....). This picture is looking into the den from the foyer.
This picture is looking from the den into the kitchen area. See all the drywall stacks!?
This is the sound-proofing of the master bathroom.
This view is from the dining room looking into the kitchen and den. See my sweet Jonathan???

Our Brick!
Our brick is on...and we are very happy with most of it. However, we had to have the crew redo all of the piers. They were terribly crooked...TERRIBLY CROOKED! Then we had them redo a part of the chimney as well.
Here is the part of the chimney they redid. However, after it dried, it still looked very crooked. They were not happy, but we asked them to redo it again for us. Now it looks very nice. (More pictures of that later.)
Our piers are much better here! We are pleased with how they came out.

Two Movies---May Not Work.....
This is a movie of our piers, foundation, and chimney getting bricked. We are using Acme's Burlington Brick...we are very pleased with it. However, we were not pleased with our brick work.....They actually had to redo parts of it up to three times! If these movies do work, be advised that they are quite bumpy and may cause motion sickness!!
Lookin' Good!
School is out....and it is time to get seriously busy on this house!! Here is a picture of Blair Godsey working on our front steps...
And notice that our roof is almost finished! We only lack shingles and flashing around the chimney!
Above is a movie showing some of our electrical/HVAC work. You can also see some of our drywall all covered up.... I'm not sure if this will work or not.....and it is pretty boring stuff......

Finally!! WINDOWS!!
Wilbur and Blair, our framers, did a great job installing the windows (just like everything else they did.....). They did later come back and put beautiful trim around the outside of the windows. Those pictures will come later!
Lizzie Graduates from Kindergarten!
Lizzie's Kindergarten class performed "Stone Soup" at their year-end program. It was adorable! Below are a few pictures of Lizzie and her best friends!
Poochie Takes Her First Steps!
"Our" little Sara Kate took her first steps in May!! We were all so very proud! She is 14 months old here! Such a big girl!!
We all affectionately call her "Poochie" or "Poochie-Pooh." She is such a doll-baby!!

Look at our Columns!
We now have big, white columns...thanks to our framers, Wilbur and Blair Godsey! They created them beautifully....They are not even quite finished here. The next day they added more detail to the top of the columns! They are made out of primed white facia board.
We have seven columns on the front and five columns on the back. They are 8 x 8 inches each. With the framing almost complete, we will have to start picking up all this wood soon!!!! Any helpers available??? Tee hee!!
