We Love Our Tummy!------August 29, 2008

We continue to learn new things about our sweet Jack everyday!! He does not like for us to lay him down in his crib on his back (or swaddled or feet covered or with any breeze). In fact, it makes him so angry, we sometimes lay him on his back when he dozes off during a feeding in order to get him to really wake up and eat his bottle! On this particular day, I had just changed him and he was getting very angry being on his back......so I rolled him over on his side. It wasn't long until he wiggled around and landed on his tummy....and immediately he zonked out!!
He stirred a few times, but he slept right here for over an hour and a half. (Mama sat next to him and sorted her mail!!) What a lovebug!

Outgrowing our Clothes!-----------August 2008

These are two of our favorite outfits for Jack to wear, but he is nearing his last days in them!! Jessica, can you believe how big he is getting??!! These little outfits are just so teensy...and our baby is not as teensy as he used to be!!

Jack Goes to the Doctor----August 28, 2008

All dressed up....and ready to go to the doctor! This is not Jack's first trip to the doctor! We went once to Lackland and then we went with Jessica while we were in San Antonio to see about Jack's tear duct. This doctor's visit was to meet his new pediatrician and to find out how well he has been growing!! As you can see, he had a very good attitude about going!!
Here is little Jack with Dr. Catherine! He loved meeting his pediatrician! They made quite the fuss over him! As soon as we walked in, a nurse named Iola came around the desk to meet us, said, "This must be Jack!!", and she took him out of his carseat.....and away she went! He was quite popular at the doctor's office!! We were glad Aunt Keri recommended her Doctor's office to us!! (She sees Doctor Yukon, and Dr. Catherine is the only other doctor in the practice!) She was so thorough with us...and spent lots of time asking us questions and giving us advice.
We took lots of time to tell her all about Jessica and the wonderful story of how Jack came to live with us! Dr. Catherine had tears in her eyes....and said that story made her birthday! We didn't know that it was her 30th birthday!! She said she would love to meet Jessica one day...and we told her she was right about that!! :) She said Jack was growing just wonderfully and gaining lots of weight! He weighed 9 lbs 5 oz!! Wow!! Won't be long until we are outgrowing some of those newborn clothes and diapers!!

When we got done with our appointment, we went back out to the waiting room where Aunt Keri and the girls were patiently waiting......(Daddy was at work today, so Aunt Keri insisted on helping us on our first day out of the house!!).....and as soon as we came into the room, the girls were already begging to have a turn holding Jack! Look at that cute Anna!!

Lizzie holds Jack like a pro!!
Is Jack smiling up at his Anna!!?
Sara Katie loves her baby Jack!
What a fun day at the doctor!! :)

Sleep, Baby Sleep!------August 25, 2008

Look how peaceful......! We have really learned how to accommodate Jack's sleeping habits! He MUST have his hands near his face, and he really doesn't care for sleeping on his back, so we borrowed Joann's sleep positioner so he could sleep on his side. We have also learned that Jack does not care to be swaddled...or even covered....UNLESS his feet are exposed!!
On this particular evening we learned something else......Jack doesn't like his sleep positioner!! :) We heard him screaming, came in, and found him uncovered completely, he had turned 90 degrees, and his sleep positioner had been hurled into the far corner of the bed! (?!)
Daddy comforted him.....So now we will try it again! :)
