July 2011

These portraits were made at Portrait Innovations in Collierville.  They were for Joy's 9 month pictures and Jack's 3-year pictures.  His 3rd birthday was coming up the next month.

I have to admit, we stayed inside quite a bit since it was sooooo hot this summer....we even brought the outside toys inside for air-conditioned fun!  :)

Here is Jack, singing passionately into his wooden "microphone." :) Such a ham!

Here is what we rigged up one afternoon when we were longing for some relief from the heat!  This set-up has provided hours and hours of cool enjoyment.  (and that hose water is COLD!!)

Joy only jumped in this happy little jumper a few times, because somehow it always ended up swinging out of control.  (Hmmmm.....)  We finally learned to only let her jump in it when her big brother was taking a nap!  :)

And he's off............

Just decided to take a few pictures of the kids' room.   Such a happy room!

Ahhh...Play-Doh!  Smells like my childhood. (Although I'm not sure why...I don't think mom liked for us to play with it too much.....)

One of Jack's chores is to use the little vacuum under the table after meals and Play-Doh days!
My sweet girl!!

Both my sweet babies!

Our first day to attempt painting. He wasn't thrilled, but he humored me for about 20 minutes.

4th of July at Grammy's and Poppy's!  Such a fun weekend with cousins!

This picture of Jonathan mowing in the rain has the funniest story to go along with it!!  He had asked me to check the radar to see if it was going to rain.  I told him there was no rain anywhere in sight...even if it looked like rainclouds up there in the sky!  So, he mowed.  I have about 20 pictures from this event---of the radar, proving there is no rain in sight....then another picture of the radar showing one small, red dot of rain----right over Slayden!  It only lasted a few minutes, but Jonny was COMPLETELY soaked, and in a few pictures he looks ready to kill me.  :)  But I have proof...it was not may fault!!!  :)

Jen and Al came to visit and we got to go with them to his uncle's house to swim.  As you can see from these pictures---Jack has no fear!!!

Toward the end of July, Mom came down to spend the night....and then we were heading to Texas to be there for baby Savannah's birth!  This picture was taken at 5:30 a.m. as we were about to leave!!
No, they are not having twins.  :)
Sweet family of four:  Scott, Joann, Austin, Ariana, Miranda (blonde), and baby Savannah!

Jack ADORES little babies!  He is always so sweet when he holds them.  He likes to rest his head on them.  So adorable!!

So little!  So sweet!  So darling!!
While we were gone, Jonny took a weekend trip to visit Aaron in Alabama, and they went fishing!

Summer is not complete without a good, drenching trip to the sprinkler park!!  On this night we packed a picnic and lots of Popsicles, and camped out for the evening!

Jonathan's goal was to stay quite dry and at a safe distance from all water.  :)

Ha!  I don't remember her being THIS chubby!!!  What a cutie-pie!!!!

Well, as you see here, Jonathan did not succeed.  He was surprised by a sprinkler that was off, and then it shot on....all over him!!  :)
Secretly I think he liked being a little wet.  Well, maybe not.
My popsicle cutie!!

Joy was pleading for a popsicle too!  We eventually gave in!

We went home this year for the West Reunion (my paternal grandmother's family).  It was fun to be together!!

My Grandma and sweet Joy!

Uncle Al and Jonny----baby holders extraordinaire!
Sweet Joy is 9 months!!!

This little piggy went to market..................
Jonny is demonstrating Joy's amazing ab strength.  He is pushing back on her so she will lay back, and she can keep herself up like crazy!!!

LOVE - LOVE - LOVE the toes in this picture!!!
What a smile on my Jack!!! He is the smiliest kid! He LOVES a bath too!
