Way back in October while scrapbooking together in Kentucky, Johnna, Keri, Jennifer, and I were talking about how great it would be to have a weekend to ourselves to just sit and scrapbook. Johnna offered us her house in Huntsville, and we decided to plan it for the three day weekend in January (MLK). Not wanting the boys to be completely left out, we decided that they should have fun too! So, all the boys met at our house in Mississippi! (Lizzie and Anna were not too thrilled when they figured out they were going to be the only girls at the BOYS weekend! We all arrived at different times to Johnna's house. Jennifer and John David arrived first, followed by Christy, then Julie, Keri, and Sara Kate. Melanie also joined us later in the weekend. We started out by celebrating the January 11th Birthdays--mine and Christy's! Johnna had made me a strawberry cake, and she had made an apple pie for Christy. We got lots accomplished over the long weekend---But I think Keri tied with Christy for the most pages finished---18 or 19!! Wow!! Johnna had all the meals planned and/or already made for us.....it was just a real treat! We hope to have a SCRAP-FAST 2008!
p.s. The boys had a great time too---Andrew, Lizzie, Anna, and Jonathan hosted Al and Luke, Aaron, and even Andrew Davis dropped in for a bit!! The smoked and grilled meat (lots of it!) and played X-Box most of the time!
pps....One of the biggest accomplishments of the weekend is that several of us were inspired by Jennifer's snapping abilities! We also tried to whistle...... Some of us learned how to do these things for the first time!!

Scrap-Fast 2007---More!!
Happy 1st Birthday, Sophie!
Happy Birthday----at Home!
We celebrated my birthday at Home.....Keri made me a yummy Pudding in a Cloud dessert that we enjoyed after a yummy Italian supper! I didn't get to blow out my candles---since Lizzie and Anna were there!
The girls gave me scrabook doo-dads, and Keri and Andrew gave me the best girly mudboots EVER!! Since they had just built a house and had to deal with lots of mud, they wanted to be sure I could walk around our new house-site!
It was a very special night!!

Happy Birthday, Mrs. Davis!!
My sweet 6th graders gave me a PERFECT surprise birthday party!! On January 9th after carpool, I went back upstairs to find my room destroyed and my students "kidnapped!" The desks were in the shape of an arrow pointing to my first clue. They had left a tape recording of my students screaming for my help....and some ominous laughter in the background. Our first (very well written) clue led us down the interstate to the Sonic on Winchester. Here we were suppposed to order two "fortuntelling" drinks. (MEDIUM drinks.) The waitress brought out our drinks and another clue.
The next clue (a beautifully-drawn map) led us to a vacant parking lot where we found a clue that sent us to the Hobby Lobby in Germantown. Here we were supposed to find "our scrapbook." This took us a while because I am obviously blind as a bat! When we finally found it, we found the next clue inside that directed us to a Germantown subdivision clubhouse. When we arrived we found all 12 of my sixth grade students, lots of parents, and the whole Smith family!! The students had made lots of food, decorated the room, and had been busy making scrapbook pages for my new Hobby Lobby Scrapbook that I had just received.
And as if the scavenger hunt, party, and the scrapbook were not enough, I was then presented with a $200 gift certificate to the Richmont--our favorite Bed and Breakfast in the in East Tennessee.
Every one had such a great time---It was certainly one of the most memorable and most exciting birthdays of my life!!
Even Jonathan and Andrew got a special treat that night.......They were offered Grizzlies/Lakers tickets for that night's game. They went and had a great time!! Special thanks to all my students for writing such great clues, making such great food, and designing those precious scrapbook pages!! Thanks to Meg for the GORGEOUS cake that she made......to Tammy for the scavenger hunt....... to Paula and Tammy for all the scrapbooking supplies.....and to Brian and Sherri for securing the clubhouse!!
I love you all so much!!
Thanks for a great 33rd Birthday!!

More Happy Birthday!!
Happy New Year
We had a really fun New Year's Celebration with Lizzie, Anna, and Sara Kate. Crazy Uncle Jonny and Daddy Andrew shot off small and somewhat disappointing "fireworks." Aunt Ju Ju and Lizzie were both a little afraid to hold a sparkler!!
Are we all out of fireworks?? (Notice Jonny in shorts?? This is a MISSISSIPPI New Year!!)
