My Sweet Niece and Nephews

Here are my sweet nephews and niece on the Green side. Above is Joann's son, Austin! He's looking sober for the picture, isn't he......but he looks alot like I did when I was a child....It is really amazing!!
Here is Luke.....He is Jennifer's oldest, and below is John David, her youngest. Aren't they dolls! (No smiles really here either....I think they were tired of Ju Ju taking their picture on such a pretty Sunday afternoon!!
Below is Catherine....Johnna's sweet baby girl.....Isn't she lovely? She is just captivating with those blue eyes!!
Aunt Ju Ju and Uncle Jonny love them all so much!!! (We get to go and see our other nieces and nephews next weekend!!) (But 75% of the children shown here will be there too!!) TeeHee!!

Porches!!!

OOOOOOOH! I'm so excited about our porches!! It is really fun to see the actual finished product now---These are the actual floors of the porches that we will be standing on everyday!

Here is Jonny and Anna playing on the front porch.

The exciting thing about the porches being done is that they can now work on the upstairs!! Yipppeeee!

Here is Sara Kate and Keri---inspecting our progress! Keri is absolutely INVALUABLE at giving ideas and seeing things that we don't see!! Since she has done this before, I feel lots better about having her approval on everything!! She is truly a PRO!! Sara Kate doesn't give alot of advice, but she sure is cute.

Here you can see her newest discovery!! She has discovered a holster on her face for her finger!! Tee Hee!!

Here is the front of the house.. Lizzie and Anna have been a big help--they have been helping us pick up all the nails and little pieces of wood lying around---Sprite cans too!!

For Mom & Aunt Lois

This house is in Memphis on the corner of Poplar Pike and Kirby. When Mom and Aunt Lois were in town, they drove past this house and had a fit over it!! They were both sad they could not drive back into Memphis to get home.....just so they could see it again!

Jonny and I drove around a few days later and found it....Pictures certainly don't do it justice!!

But, Mom and Aunt Lois, these are for you!!!

Love you!!

Visitors

We had some company tonight!! Here you see Jonny with his girlies--Anna, Lizzie, and our new pal, Alexandria!! Alexandria will be our closest neighbor when we move to the hill!! She is such a cutie, and she is in Lizzie's grade at school.

We have had many visitors since we started this project---Jen, Al and the boys have been out twice! Once at the block stage, and one just recently at the porch stage!!

Mom and Aunt Lois came by one Wednesday afternoon after a doctor's appointment in Memphis. We had lunch together (they picked me up from school) and then they got a tour of the house!

Jonathan's dad, Gilbert, came by that SAME afternoon unexpectedly to us!! He had come to Mississippi for a family funeral and decided to swing by. It was so fun for him to walk through the house in the framing stage----He said that was his favorite stage!!
James and Larissa have been over many times to see the progress of the "house next door," and of course Andrew, Keri and the girls are there almost daily! Keri's parents, Keith and Charlene have also come up (they are some of the only ones that dare driving up the sloshy and messy driveway!!) to see the progress. They are building their house back behind Keri and Andrew's house. At times we share contractors!! They have also been an unending source of help, suggestions, and encouragement!! (We like visitors like that!!)

Actually, though, now that I think about it, none of these people are really visitors, they are FAMILY!!

We would love more FAMILY to drop by.......hope to see you soon!!

Yipeeee!

See our pretty plywood walls?? Aren't they lovely?? I can't wait for them to cut out all of the window holes---It will then look like it should!

It smells awesome too!! That new-wood smell! It reminds me of going to Grandmother's Church for Vacation Bible School and smelling that new-construction smell of her church. Wow---that was about 25 years ago!!

This is the front of the house (I'm guessing that is obvious.). The front left room is the den and the front right room is the office/nursery/guest room. Not sure which one it will be first.

(My vote is a nursery!!)

Here you see a picture from inside the house looking at the den. There will be a wall hiding the stairs--and those two windows will be 6 feet tall and 3 feet wide. Right now the space is only about 1 1/2 feet wide. I'm standing in what will be the kitchen. There will be about a 5-foot opening from the den to the kitchen.

Here you can see Jonny in our hallway. I'm standing in the dining room. More pictures soon!!

Walls!!

All of this went up in about 2 1/2 hours!! Things looked SO differently when we came home from school!! I guess planning the outline on the floor really allowed them to work very efficiently today! It is all taking shape now!! Things look a little bigger today....I am quite positive my bed will fit in my bedroom now!!

Our Floor is All Mapped Out!

We came home today a bit disappointed---no walls except for the mudroom yet!! BUT the entire floor plan is mapped out on the plywood floor!! We got to stand in each space and think about how it will look! My bedroom looks too small for my bed!! I hope looks are deceiving!!!

Just One More!

How can I resist??????

Our New Nephew

Introducing.....

Benjamin Jaylin Davis

Born 2-14-07

Welcomed home 3-26-07

Daniel and Christy finally got to come to Memphis and pick up their new son!! It was so wonderful to get to meet him face to face just after they got him!! It has been killing me to think that I have been living in the same town as he for the past month and a half.....and have not even been able to see him!!

One day he will find out that he lived in Aunt Ju Ju's town for a whole month and a half.....without getting to see her.....and he will be quite put out with that agency!! :)

We met Daniel and Christy at a Mexican restaurant--Mo's. MMMMMMMM! Ben will also be mad that we did not buy him the nachos!!
Here are two handsome men!!

Ju Ju is the best....She's the best of all......None of the others can compare......Ju Ju beats them ALL!!!! (To be sung to the tune of Row Row Row Your Boat with gusto---like you REALLY mean it!!)
